Hi everyone,

In my last Deadmedia edition I mentioned that I’ll be appearing on a panel at the Filipino-Canadian Book Festival next month. Well, tickets are now available! The event is free and there are options for online attendance (I unfortunately can’t travel to Vancouver right now so I’ll be attending virtually myself). It’s also at a Europe-friendly time, which I’m always happy about.

My event is on Saturday, July 13 at 10.15 am PT. Here are the details:

World-building and Cultural Research for Storytelling

Join us for this insightful author panel on creating immersive worlds, grounding them in reality, and ensuring cultural sensitivity while introducing innovative elements. Key topics of discussion will include: the process of building intricate and believable worlds; balancing imaginative elements with real-world influences; approaching cultural research with sensitivity and respect; and introducing novel concepts and ideas in storytelling.
